You belong to the Kingdom !

It is written in Matthew 6:28-33 (KJ21)

28  Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not, neither do they spin,

29  and yet I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30  Therefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31  Therefore take no thought, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘Wherewith shall we be clothed?’

32  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek.) For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33  But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

The Bible passage above covers a thought provoking theme: you belong to the Kingdom. At  least You may ask what is the Kingdom? how do I relate to the Kingdom ? The point I want to make today is to show that you belong to the Kingdom, so that you come to understand who you are.

To begin with, take a flower, any type of it and consider its features. As it stands in your hands, the flower by the way has grown up from the ground, amid dirt and dust, but it shines in its beauty, it smells good, it is soft , lovely, delicate. Now the Bible says that flowers are better clad than kings, even the greatest king the earth has ever known, king Salomon was not arrayed like a flower. So the Creator has invested a good deal of greatness in a flower that will not last a month. The flower has no thoughts of its own, it does not go places, it does not till the ground, it cannot hide from the wind nor the snow. The Creator has seen to it that flowers grow beautifully and last a certain time under the sun. This is an amazing demonstration of planning and purpose. The fact that a flower is taken as an illustration of the manifestation of God’s will points to us as creatures of God as well.

You may be going through some bright moments or a sad time in your life. It may be a change of season, a new turn of events. Nevertheless God has a purpose for you. He planned for you and made provision for your welfare. The fact that God has a plan for your life therefore means that you belong to His kingdom; as it is you may not know it, so does the great majority of the people of the world.

In the next post I will introduce the Kingdom of God in order for you to know it and take your place in it. Even earthly citizens of the nations must know what country they belong to, and the rules that apply to orderly living.
